Frequently Asked Questions about avonil.net MultiLink PPP
| Q: |
What is MultiLink PPP? |
| A: |
MultiLink PPP is a process that binds two dialup connections
into one. |
| |
| Q: |
What will I gain with MultiLink PPP? |
| A: |
If both your phone lines are capable of V.90 connections (up
to 52,000 bps download and 33,600 bps upload for a single connection), then
your connection can reach speeds up to 106,000 bps download and 67,200 bps upload. |
| |
| Q: |
What is needed for MultiLink PPP? |
| A: |
Support for MultiLink PPP is only available with Windows98, WindowsME, Windows2000 and WindowsXP.
Since two dialup connections are bonded, your computer needs to have two modems, access to two independent phone lines, and two Internet accounts enabled for MultiLink PPP from avonil.net. |
| |
| Q: |
Will any phone lines work? |
| A: |
Yes. However, the speed of each connection is dependent on
the quality of the line. Sometimes when a second line is ordered, the phone
company will use the same wire for both lines. If this is the case, then
connection speeds will be restricted to below 33,600 bps for each line. |
